In September, we have presented you Cathay Pacific and its Premium Economy service between Brussels and Hong Kong. As a reminder, Cathay is a private Hong Kong-based airline flying to more than 180 destinations worldwide.

Today we will present you the airline’s business class service with the flight CX339, on our way back from Hong Kong to Brussels onboard their Airbus A350.

Our departure is scheduled for 00:25, but we are at the airport very early to discover Cathay Pacific’s business lounge offers. Indeed, the airline owns 4 different lounges at Hong Kong airport for its business passengers: The Wing, The Pier, The Deck, The Bridge. As we had a lot of time, we visited all of them excepted The Deck.

The offer is similar in every one of them but there is an effort made in proposing different meals. The best one, and by far, is The Pier. There, you can find a workplace with computers, phones, printers presented like an open space; a dining area separated into three different spaces: a noodle bar, a teahouse, and a quick bites bar with tapas, cheese board, salads, fish platter, pizzas for example; there is also a bar with a very large selection of beverages. The lounge also offers 14 shower suites equipped with premium bath products and fluffy towels, for a convenient refresh ahead of your flight. As we already had dinner in The Wing and The ridge, we just ordered a dessert as well as a Champaign glass.

The Bridge is a lounge separated in two different areas, a dining area on your right, and a working and relaxing space on the left. This is also a very complete lounge. The Wing, meanwhile, is a smaller one located just after the border controls where you can still have a little supper if you want.

At the boarding gate, the crew is very well organized and prepares different queues to respect the priority boarding. We are invited to board just after the Marco Polo club Diamonds and One World Emeralds members.

The business cabin in this A350 is offering 38 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seat is a Cirrus from the French manufacturer Zodiac Aerospace. Once seated, you can enjoy a comfortable seat having a 45’ pitch and a width of 20’. A pillow and a really thick blanket are also waiting for you. As it was already the case in Premium, the crew can store your jacket in a locker during the flight. A few minutes after boarding, a welcome drink is proposed, followed by an oshibori and the amenity kit. The latter is very well composed with Jurlique products. Many storages are available in your private space, and you can find a quality headphone in the little one between your seat and the window.

On this night flight, a light dinner is served. After a Pacific Sunrise, a very nice short drink by Cathay Pacific, I enjoyed a Supper with pan-fried Atlantic cod and its vegetables, a selection of cheese with a St Emilion 2015 red wine, fresh berries and a little chocolate with a Cognac as a digestive.

Then, it is time to set our seat in a real 190cm bed where we slept more than 6 hours, which is really appreciable on a twelve hours night flight. The pillow is very comfortable and the blanket really warm. Very good point for this night equipment. For those who don’t want to sleep, you can enjoy Cathay’s entertainment system on a large Panasonic screen or appreciate the onboard Wi-Fi available from 12.95 USD.

As the breakfast service is approaching, the cabin is woken up with mood lighting. The crew comes to you, calling you by your name, to propose you a first hot drink service, and quickly followed by the dish service, which is an omelet for me, accompanied by fresh fruits, yogurt with cereals and a croissant. Time for a last cup of coffee while admiring the sunrise and it’s time to start our descent to Brussels, ending a very pleasant flight with a service worthy of the best.

Again, if you have the occasion to fly Cathay Pacific do not hesitate. Their business service is one of the best and the airline is awarded by Skytrax with five stars and ranked 6th best airline in the world.
The Business Class is available starting from EUR 2.510 between Hong Kong and Brussels.

We want to thank again Cathay Pacific for their cooperation in this partnership, and once again, you, loyal readers, who make our reports possible.
